Job Summary:
We are looking for a proven leader to head up our systems software R&D team for Teradata Aster. Your experience of leading innovative teams focusing on new technology and emerging trends for big data, makes you an ideal candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop automated tests for features which manage, distribute and monitor computation across large clusters.
• Create and improve test frameworks to satisfy automation and reporting.
• Identify and propose areas of improvement throughout the software development process
• Work effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
• Willing to learn new technology & develop expertise
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
Work Environment
This position is located in Beijing. This fast-paced high tech environment and may require extended hours and after-hours follow up given the entrepreneurial nature of the team.
Required skills:
• Passion for testing and knack for identifying tests that break code.
• Strong grasps of operating systems concepts including file systems, networks and memory management.
• Strong understanding of algorithms and advanced data structures.
• Understanding of database fundamentals and SQL Programming.
• Good knowledge of Operating Systems especially Linux / Unix
• Understanding of object oriented development concepts. Experience in object oriented programming languages like (Java, Python)
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with inter-disciplinary teams and management
• Motivated self-starter, with a high capacity for rapid learning and meticulous attention to detail with 0-2 years’ experience in the database field.
• 2 years’ development or testing experience in data analytics (natural language processing, machine learning, statistical or data mining).
• Familiarity with SQL standard is a big plus.
• Familiarity with Map/Reduce and experience in distributed computation framework is a big plus.
Preferred Education:
BS/MS degree or above in computer science, computer engineering or related fields.
